GM Report Leads Auto Sector

General Motors' Corporate Responsibility Report 2003 has been placed top of its sector alongside VW in the Pacific Sustainability Index produced by the Roberts Environment Centre of Claremont McKenna College. The rise from 13th place last year saw Sd3 working with GM to focus the report on global coverage and a full integration with GM's main website - gm.com. The report also features a comprehensive and transparent appraisal of GM's performance which is proving to be a robust foundation for corporate responsibility communications across the company.

For GM's 2004 Corporate Responsibility Report, to be published this summer, Sd3 is working with GM to address over 70 improvement points identified through stakeholder feedback. These include:

- A sharper focus on key issues of greatest concern to stakeholders
- A more concise report
- Development of additional policies
- Improved integration of local and regional perspectives
- Improved feedback.
