Sd3, assuring Royal Mail is Passionate about Progress
The Royal Mail Group Plc has once again turned to Sd3 for independent assurance of its 2004-2005 CSR report, entitled 'Passionate about Progress'. In response to initial discussions with the client on assurance objectives, scope and criteria, Sd3 prepared an assurance plan which described how the assurance was to be conducted and the level of assurance desired. The Report assurance was undertaken against five criteria; materiality, coverage, completeness, responsiveness and data representation. Royal Mail take a multifaceted approach to Report assurance and Sd3's assurance was carried out in parallel with internal audit and external experts who also gave their opinion. Sd3's conclusions and recommendations were presented to the client in an internal management report which was summarised as the assurance statement published in the Report.
