Sd3 Asia Office Opened in Korea

On the 21st of March 2007 the British Embassy in the Korean capital, Seoul played host to the launch of Sd3 Asia; Sd3's new permanent presence in this increasingly important market. The guests of the British Ambassador included Sd3's existing Korean clients, such as local sustainability leader Samsung SDI; old and new friends as well as Sd3 Asia's strategic launch partners BSI Korea; the Korean Ministry of the Environment's Environmental Management Corporation and the Korean Chamber of Commerce's Business Institute for Sustainable Development.

Sd3 founding director, Jason Perks underlined the importance of sustainable business practice in Korea, "As many successful Korean businesses already know, only those that can engage their stakeholders, meet global expectations and deliver truly sustainable value will thrive in the long term."

The Embassy event marked the beginning of three days of presentations and highly interactive workshops from a range of experts including AccountAbility. The workshops were a great opportunity to share knowledge, cement strategic partnerships and discuss project work in climate and energy as well as stakeholder engagement, sustainability strategy, training, non-financial reporting and sustainability assurance.
