World's first wiki-based mainstream assurance standard revision
Your involvement is crucial to ensuring the success of the AA1000AS revision process launched in July. Why not participate via the innovative, open-access wiki process being used here for the first time and being supported by Sd3?
On 23rd July, AccountAbility launched the revision process of the AA10000 Assurance Standard (AA1000AS). To maximise participation and access collective knowledge this edition will be developed using a collaborative wiki process sponsored by Sd3 and our Korean partners, BISD.
The second edition will build on the principles-based approach and incorporate the gains that have been made in recent research on materiality, stakeholder engagement, and the integration of sustainability performance with core business performance. This new edition will set the practice benchmark for the next 4-6 years and help to define the future state of assurance.
Practitioners, researchers, standards developers, organisational users and other interested parties are invited to get involved in this exciting revision process. Involvement will provide an excellent opportunity to extend your networks, engage in new areas of research, enter into relevant discussions and gain a platform for learning for your organisation.
The revision process will be anchored by a series of international consultations to be held in late 2007 in 14 international locations. There are a number of ways to participate:
| |
By engaging in the wiki platform which will make it possible to submit comments and directly update the standards drafts online. This process will go live in October 2007. |
| |
By participating in the blog "Who should provide sustainability assurance?" on the AccountAbility website. |
| |
By signing-up for national and international consultations on the AccountAbility website. |
| |
By registering on the AccountAbility website now so you can be kept up-to-date on the revision process, download useful documents, participate in blog discussions and sign up for a national consultation. |
